METAL MASSACRE RE-ISSUE IS HERE!

"Metal Massacre's 40th Anniversary. Wow. Unbelievable. Who would've thought in 1981 that we would be here 40 years later.

Thank you Brain Slagel for bringing Metal to the masses then and for this Way Cool Limited Edition Ruby Red re-issue now. You were an integral part of the L.A. 80's metal scene. It's an honor to be on this vinyl with bands that kicked ass & kicked down doors in the early 80's. We will Never see a time like that again, it was pure Lightning in a Bottle...and you captured it precisely"

Ratt N' Roll brother, Stephen Pearcy

In 1981, Brian Slagel, founder of Metal Blade Records, decided to put out a compilation of unsigned, underground metal bands.

Originally released on June 14, 1982, Metal Massacre showcased the best of Los Angeles’ unsigned acts of the time, including METALLICA, RATT, STEELER, CIRITH UNGOL. The 40th Anniversary reissue includes all songs originally featured on the first and second pressing of the iconic compilation.

On a personal note, this album was released June 14, 1982 and RATT was signed July 28, 1983. For the whole story: https://www.officialstephenpearcy.com/post/backstage-past-stephen-pearcy-s-original-setlist-from-1983-never-before-seen-photos
